<p><span>Jika anda menyangka para jurutera sekadar membesarkan blok 1.9-liter dan meningkatkan jarak lejang (stroke), anda tidak bersendirian. Walau bagaimanapun, tanggapan itu salah sama sekali. <p><span>Setelah mengambil kira faktor-faktor penting seperti pengurangan berat, keteguhan, imbangan, NVH (bunyi, getaran, dan kekasaran), serta kualiti pemanduan, mereka menetapkan sesaran optimum pada 2,164cc. Ujian dalaman menunjukkan bahawa penjimatan bahan api adalah 5% lebih baik berbanding enjin lama.</span></p>
<p><span>Blok baharu ini menawarkan ketegaran yang lebih tinggi bagi menampung kebuk pembakaran yang lebih besar, manakala kepala silinder direka semula untuk menambah baik aliran bahan pendingin bagi mengawal suhu. Malah, komponen dalaman seperti aci engkol, omboh dan aci penghubung semuanya adalah baharu.</span></p>

<p><span>Kuasa dipertingkatkan lagi melalui pengecas turbo geometri boleh ubah (VGS) yang lebih besar untuk memanfaatkan peningkatan aliran gas ekzos. Unit turbo ini dipasang lebih dekat dengan manifold untuk tindak balas yang lebih baik, manakala galas (bearing) geseran rendah yang baharu membolehkan putaran turbo yang lebih pantas. Jalur kuasa menghantar 255 Nm seawal 1,000 rpm untuk tindak balas yang lebih responsif semasa mula memecut.</span></p>
<p><span>Di sebalik peningkatan prestasi, enjin baharu ini berjaya mengurangkan pelepasan gas berbahaya seperti NOx sebanyak 21% dan sisa zarah (particulate matter) sebanyak 99% dan tidak, angka terakhir itu bukanlah kesilapan menaip.</span></p>

<p><span>Pencapaian ini adalah hasil daripada siri sistem kawalan pencemaran pintar, termasuk Pemangkin Pengoksidaan Disel (DOC), Penyebar Zarah Disel (DPD) dan sistem Kitaran Semula Gas Ekzos (EGR) Pintar.</span></p>
<p><span>Bersama-sama enjin baharu ini, Isuzu turut menyertakan transmisi automatik 8-kelajuan baharu. Agihan kuasa melalui lapan nisbah gear berbanding enam kelajuan pada model 1.9-liter sebelum ini membolehkan penggunaan jalur kuasa yang lebih berkesan. Kunci kepada pengurangan kehilangan kuasa adalah pemetaan penukaran gear baharu yang membolehkan pertukaran gear dilakukan dengan lebih pantas.</span></p>
<p><span>Transmisi ini dibangunkan bersama Aisin dan berkongsi seni bina yang sama dengan unit pada Toyota Land Cruiser 250. Namun, ini tidak bermakna Isuzu anda menggunakan kotak gear yang serupa dengan Toyota tersebut. Beberapa komponen dalaman telah diadaptasi untuk memenuhi keperluan Isuzu bagi tujuan tunda kenderaan dan ketahanan, memandangkan D-Max mempunyai reputasi yang kukuh dalam keadaan ekstrem.</span></p>
<p><span>Akhir sekali, pembaharuan ini turut memperkenalkan varian “single-cab” automatik yang pertama di Malaysia. D-Max 2.2L Single Cab Auto akan menggunakan transmisi automatik 8-kelajuan yang sama seperti varian lain, namun dengan nisbah pacuan akhir (final drive) yang disemak semula agar lebih sesuai dengan kapasiti bebanan yang lebih besar. Spreading the power over eight forward ratios compared to the previous six in the 1.9-litre allows for a more effective utilisation of the powerband. D-Max 2.2L Single Cab Auto akan menggunakan transmisi automatik 8-kelajuan yang sama, namun dengan nisbah pacuan akhir yang telah disemak semula bagi menampung kapasiti muatan yang lebih besar. Ia juga dilengkapi dengan Rough Terrain Mode, sistem kawalan cengkaman “off-road” Isuzu untuk pemanduan jalan lasak yang lebih baik. Lebih menarik, seluruh rangkaian D-Max 2.2-liter ini kini mematuhi piawaian emisi Euro 5.</span></p>
<p><span>Selain nadi baharu, model kemaskini D-Max ini turut menampilkan rekaan lampu, gril, rim, dan pemijak sisi baharu untuk penampilan yang lebih segar. <p><span>The latest 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine registers improvement in every aspect over the outgoing 1.9-litre version, in terms of power, torque, drivability and refinement as well as fuel efficiency.</span></p>

<p><span>Its numbers are impressive, producing 8.7% more power over the 1.9-litre engine at 163 PS and 14.3% more torque with a flat 400 Nm between a very usable 1,600-2,400rpm. When compared against the marginal annual road tax variance of RM 172 compared to the 1.9-litre, the improvements are significant.</span></p>

<p><span>“Significantly, more than half of the maximum torque is generated from 1,000rpm, giving the new model plenty of low-end grunt making it supremely pleasurable to drive. Coupled to this, the new engine comes paired with a new 8-speed automatic gearbox with sequential shift, bringing a new level of driving dynamics be it for business or leisure,” said Isuzu Malaysia’s Chief Operating Officer Kenichi Kudo.</span></p>

<p><span>Alongside the new engine is a Malaysian first in the form of an automatic single-cab variant. The D-Max 2.2L Single Cab Auto will run the same 8-speed automatic as the rest of the range but with a revised final drive to better match its greater payload capabilities. It is also equipped with the Rough Terrain Mode, Isuzu’s off-road traction control system for improved dirt road driving.</span></p>

<p><span>Aside from the new engine, the facelifted D-Max also sports new light clusters, grille, rims and side steps for a cosmetic refresh. <p><span>On top of that, the 2.2L Single Cab Auto is also available with the option of Mercury Silver Metallic, a refreshing change compared to the Splash White that almost all single-cab pick-ups come with. Setting the automatic single-cabs apart from the manual version are body-coloured bumpers.</span></p>

This includes a new 10-inch infotainment system for the X-Terrain, Premium and 4&#215;2 Auto Plus models while the Standard variant receives a new 7-inch head unit and Tailgate Assist. <p><span>Enjin 2.2-liter ini bakal menggantikan unit 1.9-liter yang ditawarkan sejak 2019. Enjin turbodiesel 3.0-liter sedia ada dijangka kekal sebagai pilihan dalam barisan model.</span></p>
<p><span>Unit baharu ini menghasilkan 163 PS dan 400 Nm tork, peningkatan sebanyak 13 PS dan 50 Nm berbanding enjin 1.9-liter sebelum ini.</span></p>
<p><span>Isuzu turut memperkenalkan beberapa penambahbaikan mekanikal bagi meningkatkan kecekapan pembakaran dan prestasi keseluruhan. Antaranya termasuk ruang pembakaran jenis high-swirl yang direka semula, struktur silinder yang dikemas kini, sistem pelinciran aliran tinggi, serta sistem suntikan bahan api yang dipertingkatkan.</span></p>
<p><span>Turut dipadankan ialah turbo variable geometry elektronik (VGS), yang membantu mengekalkan tekanan boost optimum pada julat RPM lebih luas serta meningkatkan respons pendikit. Isuzu turut mendakwa peningkatan kecekapan bahan api sehingga 10.7%.</span></p>

<p><span>The new 2.2-litre unit is set to replace the 1.9-litre engine that has been offered locally since 2019. The existing 3.0-litre turbodiesel is expected to continue alongside the new engine.</span></p>
<p><span>The 2.2-litre engine produces 163 PS and 400 Nm of torque, representing an increase of 13 PS and 50 Nm over the outgoing 1.9-litre unit.<br />
Isuzu has introduced several mechanical updates to improve combustion efficiency and overall performance. These include a redesigned high-swirl combustion chamber, revised cylinder structure, a high-flow lubrication system for more stable and complete fuel burning, and upgraded fuel delivery system.</span></p>
<p><span>An electronic variable geometry turbocharger (VGS) is also fitted, helping maintain optimal boost across a wider RPM range while improving throttle response. Isuzu claims a 10.7% improvement in fuel efficiency.</span></p>

<p><span>While the industry itself saw a 11.4% reduction in commercial truck sales, confidence in Isuzu due to its ability to reduce operating costs, deliver solid reliability and increase safety saw the brand achieve its highest-ever market share of a record 56.1% with sales of 6,880 units, a step up from its previous best market share of 47.1% in 2023.</span></p>

Notably, this variant played a key role in securing a place in the Malaysian Book of Records for achieving the longest distance travelled on a single tank of fuel—an accolade that has further enhanced its reputation for reliability and efficiency.</span></p>

<p><span>Dibangunkan untuk menyamai kemampuan model enjin diesel sedia ada, D-MAX EV dilengkapi dengan sistem pacuan empat roda sepenuh masa menerusi gandar elektrik baharu di bahagian hadapan dan belakang. Susunan ini memastikan pecutan serta-merta yang lancar dan tahap hingar serta getaran yang minimum—ciri-ciri unggul sebuah kenderaan elektrik. Dengan struktur badan dan casis yang kukuh, trak pikap elektrik ini menawarkan keupayaan menunda serta kapasiti muatan yang tinggi, menjadikannya sesuai untuk kegunaan komersial mahupun peribadi.</span></p>
<p><span>Sumber kuasa bagi D-MAX EV ialah bateri litium-ion berkapasiti 66.9 kWh yang menawarkan jarak pemanduan sejauh 263 kilometer berdasarkan standard WLTP. Dua motor elektrik yang dipasang menghasilkan gabungan kuasa 188hp dan tork 325Nm. Kenderaan ini mampu memecut dari 0 ke 100 km/j dalam masa 10.1 saat dengan kelajuan maksimum dihadkan kepada sekitar 129km/j.</span></p>

<p><span>Sebagai kenderaan pikap serba boleh, D-MAX EV mengekalkan prestasi off-road dengan pelepasan tanah 210 mm, sudut pendekatan hadapan 30.5 darjah dan sudut berlepas belakang 24.2 darjah. Ia juga mampu meredah air setinggi 600 mm, menjadikan kenderaan ini kekal lasak dalam pelbagai keadaan medan.</span></p>
<p><span>Dari segi pengendalian dan keselesaan, Isuzu memperkenalkan sistem suspensi belakang baharu jenis De-Dion, menggantikan sistem spring daun konvensional. Hasilnya ialah peningkatan dalam kestabilan pemanduan dan keselesaan penumpang. Tahap hingar dan getaran dalam kabin juga dikurangkan sehingga 10 peratus semasa pecutan penuh, memberikan pengalaman pemanduan yang lebih tenang.</span></p>
