Program OA-Eco Farm merupakan usaha penanamaan makanan yang bertujuan untuk peningkatan sara diri serta meraih pendapatan mapan dalam kalangan keluarga Orang Asli. Ia menyediakan latihan praktikal, serta subsidi terhadap perkakas dan juga benih.

Disokong oleh sumbangan dana sebanyak US$10,000 (RM45,745) daripada dana tabung Ford Motor Company (Ford Motor Company Fund) yang merupakan sebuah badan kebajikan bagi Ford Motor Company, seramai 22 sukarelawan dari SDAC menyertai usaha berkenan bersama dengan pasukan GPF untuk melawat tiga perkampungan terlibat pada 9 Mac.

Turut dibawa bersama mereka ialah sumbangan benih, kelengkapan penanaman, peralatan dapur serta kesungguhan dan tenaga untuk turut membantu. Sukarelawan juga bekerja rapat dengan penduduk-penduduk di salah sebuah kampung untuk memasang kelengkapan panel solar untuk sistem pemagaran. Mereka juga terlibat dalam kerja-kerja pemugaran tanah, memotong rumput dan membangunkan batas sebelum proses pembenihan.

Cabaran utama penanaman makanan dalam golongan ini adalah sumber yang terhad untuk membeli benih, kelengkapan pembenihan dan perkebunan, serta cabaran alam sekitar seperti cuaca kering dan tanah kering dan keras. Lebih dikenali sebagai kelompok pemburu, kemahiran dalam teknik penanaman mapan untuk menguruskan kesihatan tanah adalah penting untuk kejayaan.

Dikenali kerana kesungguhan untuk menyokong komuniti masyarakat yang rentan dengan cara memupuk keupayaan daya tahan mereka, GPF melancarkan program OA-Eco Farm untuk mengatasi masalah ini. Usaha berkenaan tidak hanya mempertingkatkan kehidupan golongan Orang Asli tetapi turut mempromosi amalan mapan dan pemuliharaan alam sekitar.

Program berkenaan menerapkan kaedah penanaman yang menyeluruh dikenali sebagai Syntropic Farming yang menghidupkan semula eko-sistem serta membugarkan tanah bagi memastikan sekuriti makanan dan kemapanan.

Selain latihan, tunjuk ajar dan subsidi, yayasan ini telah mewujudkan pasar dalam talian untuk pekebun Orang Asli supaya menjana lebih banyak pendapatan daripada tanaman mereka. Menerusi laman sesawang GPF, pasar dalam talian berkenaan, yang dipanggil Kebun Amai menampilkan pelbagai buah-buahan dan sayuran segar serta produk-produk berkaitan lainnya daripada pekebun dan keluarga mereka.

Sejak pengenalannya, GPF telah bekerjasama dengan lebih 70 perkampungan untuk menyediakan capaian kepada air bersih, tenaga, kehidupan mapan serta pendidikan.

The OA-Eco Farm program is a food farming initiative aimed at fostering self-sufficiency and sustainable income among Orang Asli families. It provides hands-on training, coaching, and subsidies for tools and seedlings.

With a generous contribution of US$10,000 (RM45,745) from Ford Motor Company Fund, the philanthropic arm of Ford Motor Company, 22 staff volunteers from SDAC joined forces with the GPF team to visit the villages on March 9th. They brought donations of seedlings, farming equipment, kitchen tools, and enthusiasm.

Volunteers collaborated closely with the Orang Asli community, assisting in installing solar-powered equipment for fencing systems and cultivating the land by preparing soil, cutting grass, and planting biomass crop seedlings.

The OA-Eco Farm program addresses these challenges by providing training in sustainable farming techniques, adopting the holistic Syntropic Farming method, and creating an online marketplace called Kebun Amai. This marketplace, hosted on GPF’s website, enables Orang Asli farmers to sell fresh produce and artisanal products, thereby enhancing their livelihoods and promoting environmental conservation.

In a remarkable feat, SDAC-Ford achieved record-high sales, with a staggering 8,858 units of the Ford Ranger and Ford Everest sold in 2023. A pivotal factor contributing to SDAC-Ford’s success is its strategic expansion of the dealership network, aimed at elevating the Ford service experience. Last year, the company commenced the construction of the latest RM12 million Ford Signature dealership in Penang, situated strategically on Jalan Baru in Seberang Prai. Spanning an impressive 46,000 square feet, the state-of-the-art facility showcases a cutting-edge Ford 3S centre adhering to the latest Ford Signature Corporate Identity standards, featuring sixteen service bays and four vehicle display areas. Scheduled for full operation by the end of Quarter 2, 2024, this dealership promises to set new benchmarks in customer service and satisfaction.

In a strategic move to tap into the thriving pickup market of East Malaysia, SDAC-Ford significantly expanded its presence across the region. Recognising Sabah as the third-largest pickup market in the country, the company launched two key dealerships in the state, namely Ford Kota Kinabalu (Inanam), Boston Auto Dealership, and Ford Kota Kinabalu (Penampang), Rightpower Corporation.

Furthering its strategic expansion, SDAC-Ford inaugurated Ford Kota Samarahan, Jimisar Aruna dealership in October 2023, located in the UniVista Commercial Centre, Jalan UniVista Off Jalan Express Way in Kuching, Sarawak. Positioned near a major expressway for enhanced accessibility and within a bustling commercial center, this dealership strengthens the brand’s presence in East Malaysia. These developments bring the total number of Ford dealerships in East Malaysia to nine, and nationwide to thirty-eight, solidifying SDAC-Ford’s footprint across the region.

The accolades received further underscore Ford’s unparalleled capabilities and innovation, with the Next-Gen Ranger WildTrak clinching the prestigious Malaysia Car of the Year 2023 award for Best Truck and the Next-Gen Ranger Raptor 3.0L V6 Twin Turbo receiving an Honorable Mention.
