GWM Malaysia telah menggandakan rangkaian GWM Tank 300 di Malaysia dengan pengenalan Tank 300 HEV. Model ini membawakan kehalusan hibrid dan elektrifikasi kepada kenderaan lasak (off-roader) yang terbukti ini pada harga RM 259,800 sahaja.

Tank 300 telah mengukuhkan keupayaan pemanduan lasak tulennya dengan memenangi gelaran Juara SUV Off-Road dari tahun 2021 hingga 2025 di China. Keyakinan tersebut turut bergema di Malaysia dengan pendaftaran lebih daripada 1,000 pemilik setakat ini bagi varian enjin pembakaran dalaman (ICE) Tank 300.

Di sebalik luaran yang sasa itu, terdapat enjin 2.0-liter pengecas kembar (turbocharged) yang menghasilkan 245 PS dan tork 380 Nm, dipadankan dengan motor elektrik yang memberikan tambahan 106 PS dan tork 268 Nm. Secara keseluruhan, sistem ini menghasilkan kuasa gabungan sebanyak 346 PS dan tork 648 Nm.

Baterinya merupakan pek hibrid litium-ion 1.76 kWh yang membekalkan kuasa kepada motor elektrik demi pemanduan yang lebih lancar, senyap, dan lebih responsif.

Walaupun dilengkapi dengan rangkaian kuasa hibrid, Tank 300 HEV tetap mengekalkan casis tangga “body-on-frame” untuk mengekalkan keupayaan dunia nyata dan prestasi dalam keadaan pemanduan lasak.

Transmisi automatik hibrid sembilan kelajuan menyalurkan kuasa kepada sistem pacuan empat roda sepanjang masa. Ia turut dilengkapi dengan kunci pembeza (locking differentials) hadapan dan belakang, mod kawalan merangkak (crawl control), serta kedalaman meranduk air maksimum sehingga 700 mm.

Memandangkan Tank 300 HEV dan model ICE miliknya mempunyai rupa luaran yang hampir serupa, tidak mengejutkan apabila sudut pelepasan, sudut condong (ramp) dan sudut pendekatan yang masing-masing berukuran 34, 23, dan 33 darjah kekal sama.

Seni bina kenderaan ini memberikan kekuatan dan ketahanan yang diperlukan untuk prestasi pemanduan lasak tulen. Ini termasuk penggunaan keluli kekuatan ultra-tinggi 1,500 MPa dalam kuantiti yang besar serta ketegaran kilasan (torsional rigidity) yang mencapai 284.5 kN·m/rad, sekali gus memberikan rintangan yang kuat terhadap piuhan dan kestabilan pengendalian secara keseluruhan.

Selain itu, rangkaian kelengkapan pemanduan lasaknya merangkumi ciri-ciri berikut:

• Sistem Pacuan 4 Roda (4WD) Atas Permintaan Sepanjang Masa
• Nisbah gear rendah 4L untuk keadaan pemanduan lasak yang ekstrem
• Pelbagai mod rupa bumi: Normal, Eco, Sport, Salji, Lumpur, Pasir dan 4L
• Bantuan Putaran Tank (Tank Turn Assist), yang membolehkan radius putaran lebih kecil dengan mengunci roda belakang bahagian dalam
• Kawalan Merangkak (Crawl Control – CCO), yang membolehkan kenderaan mengekalkan pergerakan yang stabil di atas rupa bumi yang mencabar

Melangkah masuk ke dalam siluet berkotak yang ikonik itu, anda akan disambut oleh ruang kabin yang sangat mewah dengan keselesaan seperti kemasan kulit Nappa, sistem audio premium Infinity dengan 9 pembesar suara, serta ciri-ciri infotainmen dan ketersambungan yang maju.

GWM Malaysia has doubled its GWM Tank 300 range in Malaysia with the introduction of the Tank 300 HEV, bringing hybrid refinement and electrification to the proven off-roader for just RM 259,800.

The Tank 300 has cemented its genuine off-road capabilities, winning the Off-Road SUV Champion title from 2021 to 2025 in China. That confidence has echoed here in Malaysia with over 1,000 owners to date of the internal combustion Tank 300 variant.

Under that rugged exterior is a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine producing 245 PS and 380 Nm of torque, paired with an electric motor delivering an additional 106 PS and 268 Nm of torque. Combined, the system’s weighs in at 346 PS and 648 Nm of torque.

The battery is a 1.76 kWh lithium-ion hybrid pack that feeds the electric motor for a smoother, quieter and more responsive drive.

Despite the hybrid powertrain, the Tank 300 HEV retains its body-on-frame ladder chassis for all the real-world capability and off-road conditions.

A nine-speed hybrid automatic transmission sends power to the full-time four-wheel drive system. There are front and rear locking differentials and crawl control mode as well as a 700 mm max wading depth.

Seeing that the Tank 300 HEV and its ICE sibling are cosmetically similar, it is no surprise that the departure, ramp and approach angles of 34-, 23- and 33-degrees remain identical.

The architecture delivers the strength and durability required for genuine off-road performance, including a substantial amount of 1,500 MPa ultra-high-strength steel and torsional rigidity reaching 284.5 kN·m/rad, providing strong resistance to twisting and overall handling stability.

Furthermore, its arsenal of off-road weaponry includes the following:

• Full-time On-Demand 4WD system
• 4L low range gearing for extreme off-road conditions
• Multiple terrain modes: Normal, Eco, Sport, Snow, Mud, Sand and 4L
• Tank Turn Assist, enabling a tighter turning radius by locking the inner rear wheel
• Crawl Control (CCO), allowing the vehicle to maintain steady progress over challenging terrain

Stepping inside that iconic boxy silhouette is an extremely refined cabin with comforts such as Nappa leather upholstery, a 9-speaker Infinity premium audio system and advanced infotainment + connectivity features.

Completing the kit-count is auto air-conditioning, power-adjustable front seats with a massage function for the driver’s driver’s seat, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity and a 64-colour ambient lighting.

Safety comprises a full Level 2 ADAS suite, featuring Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking with Junction Assist, Lane Keeping and Centering, Lane Change Assist, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert with Braking, complemented by Hill Descent Control, Auto Parking Assist and a 360-degree camera system.

Further enhancing connectivity is a smart app exclusive to the Tank 300 HEV. It remotely monitors vehicle statuses such as doors, windows, tyre pressure, location, fuel level and battery state-of-charge. Owners can also switch on the air-conditioning, seat ventilation and open the sunroof with the app.

There will be three exterior shades for the Tank 300 HEV, made up of Crystal Black, Pearl White and a HEV-exclusive Sand Beige.

That the GWM Tank 300 HEV is coming to Malaysia is all but confirmed and the public can catch it in its boxy glory for the first time up north at the upcoming Penang Autoshow 2026, to be held from 1-3 May 2026 at the Penang Waterfront Convention Centre (PWCC).

GWM Malaysia has reiterated its commitment to the Malaysian market with the next phase of growth by outlining a strategic roadmap till 2028 that includes four new models to be launched.

Since entering the Malaysian market, GWM has steadily expanded its footprint by growing its product portfolio, strengthening its dealer network and investing in local capabilities. In 2025, the brand recorded just short of 5,900 units sold, a 177% year-on-year growth. Furthermore, this reflected the strong acceptance of its products locally.

Apart from the new models, technology remains a key focus, led by GWM’s Hi4 intelligent hybrid system that debuted here in the Wey G9 Hi4 PHEV this year.
