Under the hood, the M3 CS Touring boasts a 3.0-litre six-cylinder inline engine equipped with M TwinTurbo technology, designed for high-revving performance. Featuring a reinforced crankcase, forged lightweight crankshaft, and 3D-printed cylinder head core, the engine has been optimised for track performance. The cooling and oil systems are engineered to handle extreme conditions, ensuring durability under sustained high loads.

With an increased boost pressure of 2.1 bar and enhanced engine management, the power output climbs to 550hp with 650Nm of torque available between 2,750 and 5,950 rpm. This enables a blistering 0-100km/h sprint in just 3.5 seconds and a 0-200km/h run in 11.7 seconds. The performance experience is further amplified by an M-specific exhaust system featuring electrically controlled flaps, a titanium rear silencer, and dual matte black tailpipes, all contributing to an aggressive soundtrack that varies depending on the selected drive mode.

Precision-Optimised Drivetrain and Handling

Power is transmitted via an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic, offering three distinct shift settings. The M xDrive all-wheel-drive system, coupled with an Active M Differential, ensures optimal power distribution, enhancing traction and agility. Drivers can select between 4WD, 4WD Sport, or pure rear-wheel-drive (2WD) mode with DSC deactivated for an unfiltered driving experience.

To match the uprated powertrain, BMW has refined the chassis setup specifically for the M3 CS Touring. The adaptive M suspension, M Servotronic steering, and integrated braking system all receive bespoke tuning, delivering sharper responses on both road and track. Standard M Compound brakes with red or black callipers provide impressive stopping power, with optional M Carbon ceramic brakes available in red or matte gold.

The car rolls on forged M light-alloy wheels in an exclusive double-spoke design, finished in matte Gold Bronze or matte Black. These measure 19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear, with track tyres fitted as standard, although customers can opt for sport tyres at no extra cost.

Lightweight Construction and Aerodynamics

Intelligent weight-saving measures contribute to the M3 CS Touring’s enhanced performance. Carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) is extensively used in the bonnet, front splitter, air intakes, mirror caps, and rear diffuser. Inside, M Carbon bucket seats, CFRP shift paddles, interior trims, and a lightweight centre console further reduce mass. Overall, these measures shave approximately 15 kg compared to the standard M3 Competition Touring with M xDrive.

Aerodynamic efficiency is also a key focus, with the front-end design featuring a frameless BMW M kidney grille with red contour lines, an aggressive front splitter, and an exclusive high-gloss black roof and roof spoiler. The LED headlights emit a striking yellow light, reminiscent of BMW’s GT racing cars.

The model will be offered in an exclusive colour palette, including British Racing Green, Laguna Seca Blue, Frozen Solid White, and Sapphire Black metallic.

Driver-Centric Interior with Motorsport Influence

Inside, the M3 CS Touring maintains BMW’s signature driver-focused cockpit, complemented by high-tech and luxury features. Electrically adjustable and heated M Carbon bucket seats in black and red Merino leather provide superior support. The M Alcantara steering wheel features a red 12 o’clock marker, while M seat belts and “CS” badging on the centre console reinforce the performance aesthetic.

The M Setup button allows direct control over the engine, suspension, steering, braking, and M xDrive configurations. Two personalised drive modes can be saved and accessed via the M buttons on the steering wheel. Standard equipment includes M Drive Professional with track-focused features such as M Drift Analyzer and M Lap Timer.

BMW is expanding its lineup with the introduction of the new BMW M5 Touring, a car that promises to deliver a blend of high performance and everyday practicality, making it a standout in the high-performance wagon segment.

At the heart of the new M5 Touring is the M HYBRID drive system, which integrates a 4.4-litre V8 engine with an electric motor. This combination produces an impressive total output, delivering 585hp from the V8 and an additional 197hp from the electric motor. Together, they generate a combined torque of up to 750Nm from the engine and 450Nm from the electric motor. This powertrain allows the M5 Touring to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 3.6 seconds. The standard top speed is set at 250km/h, but this can be increased to 305km/h with the optional M Driver’s Package. Additionally, the vehicle boasts an electric range of 61–67km, made possible by an 18.6 kWh high-voltage battery.

The exterior of the M5 Touring is both athletic and muscular, featuring a high proportion of surfaces painted in body colour, complemented by a Black solid finish for the roof. The front of the car is marked by large air intakes and a new BMW M kidney grille, while the rear showcases slim lights, vertical reflectors, and a split diffuser, enhancing the vehicle’s dynamic and aggressive look.

Underpinning the car is a sophisticated chassis setup that includes a double-wishbone front axle and a five-link rear axle, both of which have been tuned specifically for this model. The adaptive M suspension and Integral Active Steering contribute to the car’s exceptional handling and ride quality. The M5 Touring also comes standard with M Compound brakes, though M Carbon ceramic brakes are available as an option. The car rides on M light-alloy wheels, measuring 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear, and is fitted with high-performance tires.

Inside, the M5 Touring features an M-specific, driver-focused cockpit, which includes a newly designed M leather steering wheel and M multifunction seats. The cabin is adorned with Merino leather trim and equipped with four-zone automatic climate control and a Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound System, providing a luxurious and comfortable environment. The vehicle also offers a generous cargo space, with a load capacity ranging from 500 to 1,630 litres, and includes features such as Comfort Access and automatic tailgate operation.

In terms of driving assistance and safety, the M5 Touring is equipped with a range of standard features, including front collision warning, Lane Departure Warning, Evasion Assistant, and Speed Limit Info. For those seeking even more advanced capabilities, options such as Driving Assistant Professional and Parking Assistant Professional are available.

The infotainment and connectivity systems are anchored by the latest BMW iDrive system, which is based on Operating System 8.5. This system offers enhanced touchscreen and voice control capabilities. The M5 Touring also features 5G compatibility, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and various personalisation options through the BMW ID and My BMW App.

The BMW M5 Touring is set to make its world premiere at Monterey Car Week in mid-August 2024, with the market launch scheduled for November 2024 following the production start at BMW Group Plant Dingolfing. Designed to cater to drivers who demand both a thrilling driving experience and the versatility of a practical and luxurious daily driver, the new BMW M5 Touring is poised to be a significant addition to the BMW lineup.

Despite wagons typically being larger than sedans, the ID.7 Tourer shares the same length, width, and height as its sedan counterpart. With dimensions measuring 4961mm in length, 1862mm in width, and 1536mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2971mm, the ID.7 Tourer offers ample space for passengers and cargo.

While maintaining identical external dimensions, the ID.7 Tourer boasts improved practicality, with 605 litres of luggage space behind the rear seats, expandable to 1,714 litres with the rear bench folded. An optional roof box further increases cargo capacity by 460 litres. Additionally, the wagon offers flexibility for carrying longer items, with a load area length of up to 1948mm when the rear seats are folded.

Inside and out, the design remains consistent with the ID.7, featuring a longer roof and a revised rear section for enhanced practicality. The ID.7 Tourer inherits the optional panoramic sunroof with a polymer-dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) layer, allowing occupants to adjust transparency at the touch of a button.

The ID.7 Tourer shares the same rear-mounted electric motor as the liftback variant, delivering 282hp and 545Nm of torque. The Pro version, available at launch, comes with a 77 kWh battery pack, while a Pro S variant with an 86-kWh pack is planned. The larger battery is estimated to provide a range of 685km per the WLTP cycle. Charging times range from under 30 minutes to reach 10 to 80 per cent capacity, depending on the battery size and maximum charging power.

Production of the ID.7 Tourer will take place at Volkswagen’s Emden factory in Germany, alongside the regular ID.7 and ID.4 models.

The GT model features a 10mm lowered ride height, a manually adjustable coil over suspension, stiffer stabiliser bars, three-way electronically adjustable dampers, and an updated differential with more rear bias. The exterior design draws inspiration from the Audi 90 Quattro IMSA GTO race car, featuring the iconic red, white, and black Audi racing livery and 22-inch wheels.

Limited to just 660 units worldwide, the RS6 Avant GT offers a partially hand-built experience, with various components crafted by German designers and engineers. The carbon fibre hood, fenders, bumper, spoiler, suspension, and exterior wrap showcase the vehicle’s exclusivity. The interior boasts black leather and Alcantara upholstery, red quilted stitching on the seats, and new sport bucket seats with carbon backing.

Audi plans to produce only 85 units for the US market and 7 for Canada, making the RS6 Avant GT a highly sought-after and rare addition to the automotive landscape. While pricing details are yet to be officially disclosed, the limited production run suggests strong demand for this performance-oriented wagon.
