Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has announced a leadership transition for its Southeast Asia operations. Effective 1 February 2026, Martin Schulz has been appointed CEO & President of Mercedes-Benz Cars Malaysia, while also taking on the role of Head of Region, Mercedes-Benz Cars Southeast Asia.
The newly integrated regional role will oversee four markets including Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. Schulz succeeds Amanda Zhang, who will remain on the Board of Directors and take on a Senior Adviser role to support strategic continuity.
Amanda Zhang brings over 20 years of experience with Mercedes-Benz, having held senior leadership roles across Europe and Southeast Asia. During her tenure, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia implemented Southeast Asia’s first Retail of the Future Agency Model, launched the Stars@Mercedes-Benz Bangsar flagship retail concept, expanded the EV charging ecosystem through partnerships, and strengthened the regional go-to-market strategy.
Under her leadership, the product portfolio was broadened to offer greater “luxury of choice”, while profitable growth was achieved in Singapore. In her advisory capacity, Zhang will continue to support the business during the leadership transition.
Martin Schulz has been with Mercedes-Benz since 1999, with prior CEO roles in the United Arab Emirates and Romania, as well as more than a decade in senior management positions across Vietnam, Thailand, and Korea. Most recently, he was based in Stuttgart, Germany, serving in various global Sales and Marketing roles.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia says the leadership transition is part of its long-term regional strategy, as the company continues to focus on customer experience, electrification, and sustainable growth across Southeast Asia.
