Since entering the Malaysian market in 2023, Chery Malaysia has a cumulative 30,073 units up to the end of 2025. The Tiggo range has been the anchor for the marque, growing from 16% in 2023 to 37% in 2024 almost doubling to account for 66% of its total sales last year, which stood at 12,930 units and including the Omoda series as well.

The Tiggo range will be shouldering some heavy expectations this year as the company has steadily expanded the nameplate’s range.

Back in 2023, it debuted with the Omoda 5 before the flagship Tiggo 8 Pro arrived. That was followed by the Tiggo 7 Pro in 2024 and then its first battery-electric vehicle (BEV), the Omoda E5.

Last year saw things step up a notch with the compact Tiggo Cross that was available in turbo (ICE) and hybrid variants. It closed the year with the Tiggo 7 PHEV and Tiggo 8 PHEV to expand the CSH series.

This year has already seen the launch of the entry-level Tiggo 8 and that will be followed by the marque’s new flagship Tiggo 9 CSH PHEV in Q2. During a media event recently, it was announced that there will be four new launches for the year, including the Tiggo 9.

Currently, the brand’s Malaysian network comprises 59 sales centres, 54 aftersales facilities and 25 body and paint outlets.

The company ended the year on a high by bagging two titles at the Malaysia Car of the Year 2025 awards.

First up was the Tiggo Cross HEV honoured as the Crossover xEV of the Year (Below RM120,000) while the Chery Tiggo 8 PHEV was crowned the Most Energy Efficient Vehicle for 2025.
