The B-segment SUV was previously announced with an estimated price of RM 120,000 before being revised down to RM 110,000 last month.

That update was accompanied by a “super early bird” package worth up to RM 8,888 for customers who placed bookings ahead of launch.
For Malaysia, the Jaecoo J5 will be powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged inline-four petrol engine producing 147 PS and 210 Nm of torque, paired to a CVT driving the front wheels.

Measuring 4,380 mm long, 1,860 mm wide and 1,650 mm tall with a 2,620 mm wheelbase, the J5 sits squarely in the B-segment SUV space, comparable to the Honda HR-V. It rides on 18-inch wheels, with MacPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link rear setup.

Inside, the J5 features a 13.2-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an eight-inch digital instrument display, and a 50-watt wireless charger.

Standard equipment includes power-adjustable and ventilated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, multi-colour ambient lighting, acoustic double-glazed front windows, a panoramic glass roof, a 360-degree camera system with transparency view, powered tailgate and an eight-speaker audio system.

Driver assistance features comprise of a full suite of ADAS, including adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane centering assist, and more.
