To date, Chery Group has accumulated more than 18.89 million users worldwide, including over 6.09 million overseas customers, making it the first Chinese automotive brand to break the six-million overseas-user milestone.

That still pales in comparison to the Tiggo 7’s achievement under the big four of crash testing and vehicle safety, comprising the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP), Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP), New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP) and China New Car Assessment Program (C-NCAP). Furthermore, the Tiggo 7 achieved this on the back of a five-star ASEAN NCAP rating with a record score of 94.68 points, the highest in the organisation’s history.

Not one to be rest on its laurels, Tiggo 7 secured perfect scores in both Adult Occupant Protection and Safety Assist, making it the only plug-in hybrid model to obtain a ‘double perfect score.’ A huge factor in achieving this is due to SUV’s L2+ intelligent driver assistance systems designed to address Southeast Asia’s challenging traffic conditions.

The systems automatically activate at speeds above 15 kph to help reduce the risk of collisions during lane changes or when opening doors. Complementing these features is a strong passive safety foundation, with a body structure made from over 61% high-strength steel and a front aluminium anti-collision beam designed to prevent cabin intrusion.

In October 2025, the Tiggo 7 received a five-star rating from Euro NCAP, performing exceptionally in Adult Occupant Protection, Child Occupant Protection, Vulnerable Road User Protection and Safety Assist. This was followed two months later with the Australia-spec Tiggo 7 CSH maintaining the same strong performance from ANCAP, as the two organisations share similar testing protocols.

The Tiggo 7 adopts a cage-type energy-absorbing body structure, with high-strength steel accounting for more than 60% of the vehicle’s construction, while critical areas are reinforced with 1500 MPa hot-formed steel. Eight airbags are also provided as standard.

Complementing the rigid chassis structure are features such as the 540-degree transparent chassis view that provides a comprehensive view of the vehicle’s surroundings.
