Kia Sales Malaysia (KSM) has announced the expansion of their MPV range with the introduction of the new Kia Carnival 8-seater.
The addition of the Carnival 8-seater reflects increasing demand from larger families and business users who require adaptable interior space without compromising premium cabin comfort. It complements the 11-seater and 7-seater range-topping variant in the line-up.
Locally assembled in Kulim, Kedah, the Carnival 8-seater is priced at RM238,888, positioning it between the 11-seater (RM188,888) and the 7-seater (RM248,888). Every new Carnival is backed by a 5-year/150,000 km warranty (whichever comes first).

The cabin is configured in a 2-3-3 seating layout layered in leatherette, with the second row featuring a 40:20:40 split with detachable seats and long-sliding functionality. Additionally, the middle seat can be individually configured to face forward or backward while the outer seats can be reversed by switching their positions, allowing owners to adapt the cabin for a versatile array of family travel, business use or chauffeur-driven applications.
At the rear, the third row adopts a 60:40 split with user-friendly pop-up and sinking seats, enabling flexible cargo and passenger seating.

Cabin amenities include ambient lighting spanning the width of the dashboard with a curved panoramic display that seamlessly integrates dual 12.3-inch screens serving as the digital instrument cluster and infotainment display that feeds out of a 12-speaker premium Bose audio system.
No changes under the hood as the Carnival 8-seater is powered by the same 2.2-litre Smartstream four-cylinder turbodiesel engine as its siblings. That brings 202 PS and 440 Nm of torque to the table, sent to the front via an eight-speed automatic transmission driving the front wheels. The efficient mill returns 6.5 litres per 100 km under the WLTP cycle, or over 900 km on a single tank.

Being a family-focused vehicle, safety is of the utmost importance and comprises eight airbags with a centre-side airbag, and an extensive range of active safety systems designed to provide confidence and peace of mind on every journey.

- Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA)

- Rear Occupant Alert (ROA)
The new Kia Carnival is available in the same four exterior colours as the rest of the range, Meteor Gray, Snowflake White Pearl, Astra Blue and Jet Black.
Furthermore, internal evaluation of the cost of ownership across Malaysia’s large MPV segment places the Carnival among the most cost-efficient in its class. With scheduled service intervals of 10,000km or 12 months, compulsory maintenance for a Kia Carnival could be as low as approximately RM3,600 over a period of 5 years.
To improve entry into Kia ownership, KSM is offering new Carnival owners the option to enjoy a competitive 1.98% per annum interest rate for up to nine years of financing or RM6,000 worth of fuel credits in their TNG eWallet.
