That the GWM Tank 300 HEV is coming to Malaysia is all but confirmed and the public can catch it in its boxy glory for the first time up north at the upcoming Penang Autoshow 2026, to be held from 1-3 May 2026 at the Penang Waterfront Convention Centre (PWCC).
GWM Malaysia’s booth at the show will showcase a complete mobility line-up designed around real Malaysian usage scenarios using their full range of powertrains across internal combustion engine (ICE), hybrid electric (HEV), plug-in hybrid electric (PHEV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) models.
Their line-up will include the following:
- Tank 300 HEV
- Haval H6 HEV
- Wey G9
- Ora Good Cat / Good Cat GT

“As Penang and the northern region continue to grow as key mobility markets, we see strong demand for versatile solutions that support different lifestyles and driving needs. Through this platform, we aim to showcase how our all-powertrain, all-scenario line-up delivers relevance across everyday use cases, while offering a more immersive way to experience our vehicles beyond traditional showrooms and brochures,” said Roslan Abdullah, Chief Operating Officer of GWM Malaysia.
Visitors to the booth will be able to interact with the immersive displays that include the following:
- hands-on vehicle walkthroughs highlighting space, features and usability
- test drive opportunities with exclusive booking rewards
- the Pack & Go Challenge, a fun activity showcasing cargo space and practicality
- family-friendly interactive activities with GWM merchandise and prizes to be won

At the global stage, GWM reinforced its “All Powertrain, All Scenario, All Users” approach at the ongoing Auto China 2026. Key to this is the GWM ONE Platform, a modular, software-defined architecture that supports all major powertrains (ICE, HEV, PHEV, BEV and FCEV).
With over 95% parts commonality and accelerated development cycles, the platform enables GWM to deliver scalable, adaptable products tailored to different markets.

“Seeing GWM ONE come to life at a global level gives us strong confidence in how we bring these technologies into Malaysia. GWM Malaysia plans to strengthen its regional presence aside from the current four showrooms and three service centres in the northern region.
The Penang Autoshow 2026 will be held from 1-3 May 2026 at the Penang Waterfront Convention Centre (PWCC) from 10:00am to 10:00pm daily and you can catch GWM Malaysia at booth A04.
