The Volkswagen ID Polo has been unveiled, an all-electric version of one of its most established nameplates.
On the design front, the ID Polo adopts the brand’s new “Pure Positive” design language, featuring a cleaner and more conventional look compared to earlier ID models. It retains familiar proportions, with a friendly front-end, signature C-pillar design, and a more upright, hatchback silhouette.
In terms of size, the ID Polo measures 4,053 mm in length, 1,816 mm in width and 1,530 mm in height, with a 2,600 mm wheelbase. Boot space is rated at 441 litres, expanding to 1,240 litres with the rear seats folded.
Under the skin, the ID Polo is built on a front-wheel drive layout and will be offered with three output levels: 85 kW (116 PS), 99 kW (135 PS), and 155 kW (211 PS).
Two battery options are offered in Europe. The lower-output variants use a 37 kWh LFP battery, offering up to 329 km of range (WLTP), while the higher-output version gets a 52 kWh NMC battery with up to 455 km of range.
Charging is supported via 90 kW DC fast charging, with a 10 to 80% charge taking around 23 minutes for the smaller battery and 24 minutes for the larger pack.
Inside, the cabin features a 10-inch digital cockpit and a 13-inch infotainment display, along with the return of physical controls for key functions. Volkswagen has also focused on usability, with a more intuitive layout compared to earlier ID models.
The ID Polo also features Connected Travel Assist with traffic light recognition, one-pedal driving, and vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality with up to 3.6 kW output.
The model will be offered in multiple trim levels including Trend, Life and Style, with higher variants gaining features such as IQ.Light LED matrix headlights, ambient lighting, and additional comfort equipment.
