Honda has revealed a new Hybrid Sedan Prototype, previewing one of 15 next-generation hybrid models the company plans to introduce globally by 2030.
The reveal comes after Honda announced in March that it would cancel several large EV projects, including the 0 Saloon, 0 SUV and Acura RSX BEV. At the time, the company said it would provide an update on its mid- to long-term strategy in May. This is that update.
Honda says it will now reallocate more development and production resources into hybrid models, which it sees as a stronger near-term response to current market demand. The first next-generation hybrid models will be introduced from 2027, primarily in North America.
The Hybrid Sedan Prototype shown in Japan previews one of these upcoming models. It features a sleek fastback-style sedan body, split front lighting, flush door handles and Honda’s new H logo, pointing towards a cleaner and more EV-like design direction for its future hybrids.
