The 2026 BYD Atto 3 facelift has officially been launched in Malaysia, with two variants offered locally which are Ultra and Premium. The Ultra is priced at RM 125,800, while the Premium is priced at RM 138,800.
The Ultra is the more familiar version, continuing with a front-wheel drive layout. It uses a 60.48 kWh BYD Blade LFP battery, paired with an electric motor producing 204 PS and 310 Nm. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint is done in 7.3 seconds, while claimed range is rated at 480 km on the NEDC cycle.
DC fast charging for the Ultra has been increased to 110 kW, up from the previous 88 kW. According to BYD, this allows a 30 to 80% charge in around 30 minutes.
The bigger news is the Premium variant, which adopts the more substantial Atto 3 Evo-style upgrade. It gets a rear-wheel drive layout, a larger 74.88 kWh Blade LFP battery and a more powerful rear motor producing 313 PS and 380 Nm.
As a result, the Premium does 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds, with claimed NEDC range rated at 600 km. It also supports DC fast charging at up to 220 kW, with a 10 to 80% charge taking around 25 minutes.
The Premium also gets an upgraded suspension setup, with MacPherson struts featuring dual-ball joints at the front and a five-link multi-link setup at the rear. The Ultra continues with the familiar MacPherson front and multi-link rear setup.
In terms of size, both variants measure 4,455 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width and 1,615 mm in height, with a 2,720 mm wheelbase. Both also ride on 18-inch wheels with 235/50 R18 tyres.
Exterior changes include redesigned front and rear bumpers, revised rear lighting graphics, a larger rear spoiler and updated D-pillar treatment. The Premium additionally gets a rear charging port due to its rear-wheel drive layout, while the Ultra retains a front-side charging port.
Inside, the Atto 3 facelift gets a cleaner dashboard and door panel design, replacing much of the old fitness-inspired interior detailing. The 15.6-inch infotainment screen remains, but it no longer rotates. A larger 8.8-inch digital instrument display is also now fitted.
Both variants get wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 50W wireless charger, panoramic sunroof, driver and front passenger ventilated seats, and powered front seats.
The Ultra gets six-way power adjustment for the driver and four-way adjustment for the front passenger. The Premium adds driver seat lumbar adjustment and a six-way powered front passenger seat.
Boot capacity is listed at 1,340 litres with the rear seats folded for the Ultra. The Premium gets 1,360 litres of maximum luggage capacity, along with an additional 101-litre front trunk.
Safety kit includes ADAS across both variants. The Ultra comes with six airbags, while the Premium gets seven airbags, including a front far-side centre airbag. The Premium also receives the enhanced ADAS package.
The 2026 BYD Atto 3 comes with a six-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty, an eight-year or 160,000 km Blade Battery warranty, and an eight-year or 160,000 km drive unit warranty.
BYD Sime Motors is also offering a launch package worth up to RM 14,000 for early customers. This includes RM 10,000 early bird overtrade support for the first 500 customers, along with a choice of either a wall charger with standard installation or a six-year standard service package.
Complimentary accessories include a vehicle-to-load (V2L) adapter and a Type 2 charging cable with three-pin plug.
