Toyo Tires Malaysia has officially launched the Proxes Comfort, expanding its Proxes lineup with a model focused on ride comfort, stability and everyday safety for passenger cars and SUVs.
The Proxes Comfort is positioned as Toyo Tires’ next-generation luxury comfort tyre, developed in Japan and engineered to meet the demands of modern mobility, including the increasing adoption of electrified vehicles. According to Toyo Tires Malaysia, the tyre prioritises reduced road noise, improved cushioning and stable handling, while maintaining strong wet and dry grip for daily driving.
A key feature of the Proxes Comfort is Toyo Tires’ Dynamic Taper Design, which allows the tread grooves to maintain more consistent contact pressure with the road surface. This improves block stiffness and braking stability, particularly during sudden stops and in wet conditions.
Compared to its predecessor, the Proxes CF2, the Proxes Comfort delivers an eight percent shorter braking distance on dry roads and up to 13 percent shorter braking distances in the wet, based on tests conducted using the 205/55 R16 tyre size fitted to a Volkswagen Golf Mk8.
Despite its comfort-oriented focus, Toyo Tires states that the Proxes Comfort maintains stability during lane changes and cornering, even at higher speeds, aided by an optimised tyre profile and reinforced internal structure designed to improve speed stability and load handling.
Independent testing has also supported its performance claims. The Proxes Comfort received a “Gut” (Good) rating in the 2025 Auto Bild summer tyre test, where it was praised for its resistance to aquaplaning, short braking distances and overall value for money.
In Malaysia, the Proxes Comfort is currently available in 14 sizes, covering rim diameters from 16 to 19 inches, with more sizes planned. Most variants carry an Extra Load (XL) rating to support the higher weight requirements of BEVs, HEVs and PHEVs, with 11 sizes classified as EV-ready. Recommended retail prices range from RM 279 to RM 698, depending on size.
