Local rendering specialist Theophilus Chin, or Theottle, has visualised what the new Proton Saga could look like rebadged as a Geely for left-hand drive markets.
Proton previously confirmed that the latest Saga will be exported and sold as a Geely model in selected LHD territories, with the Philippines expected to be the first recipient in Q4 2026.
In Theottle’s rendering, the transformation starts at the front. The rendered Geely version, finished in dark blue, replaces the Saga’s grille with Geely’s vertical slat grille and Geely badge.

The headlights and bumper structure remain largely unchanged, but the grille swap give it a more overt Geely identity, aligning it with models sold under the Chinese brand’s global portfolio.
At the rear, the changes are more restrained. The full-width light bar remains, but the “PROTON” script is replaced with “GEELY”, while badging on the tailgate is adjusted accordingly. The bumper design and overall body panels stay identical.
Internally codenamed AMA01, the rebadged Saga fills a gap in Geely’s lineup. The Chinese automaker has acknowledged it lacks a compact entry-level sedan, and developing one from scratch would require both time and segment-specific experience.

Proton, meanwhile, has decades of familiarity with the kereta rakyat formula. The new Saga sits on the Advanced Modular Architecture platform, which was designed from the beginning to support left-hand drive conversion. That makes it a ready-made export candidate.
Under the bonnet sits the Geely-sourced BHE15-CFN 1.5-litre naturally aspirated inline-four producing 120 PS and 150 Nm of torque, paired to either a 4-speed automatic transmission or a CVT. The current Saga also benefits from upgraded equipment, including LED lighting, dual digital displays, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and ADAS on higher variants.
