The question now is, which version will Malaysia get?

2026 BYD Atto 3 Facelift – Will Malaysia Get The 800V Evo, Or The Safer Update?

In regional markets, the facelifted 2026 BYD Atto 3 continues to use BYD’s e-Platform 3.0 with front-wheel drive. Output remains at 204 PS and 310 Nm, with the same 7.3-second 0 to 100 km/h time. The 60.48 kWh Blade LFP battery also carries over, maintaining a quoted 420 km WLTP range.

The only technical upgrade is an increase in DC fast charging capability from 88 kW to 105 kW. AC charging remains at 7 kW, and suspension configuration continues with MacPherson struts at the front and a multi-link rear setup.

By contrast, the European-market Atto 3 Evo introduces more significant revisions. It adopts an 800V electrical architecture, switches to rear-wheel drive with 313 PS, and gains a five-link rear suspension. Battery capacity increases to 74.8 kWh, delivering up to 510 km WLTP range for the RWD variant, while DC charging capability rises to 220 kW.

Exterior and interior changes are broadly shared across both versions. These include redesigned front and rear bumpers, updated D-pillars, revised taillights, a larger rear spoiler, a steering column-mounted gear selector, a larger 8.8-inch instrument display and a simplified dashboard layout. The rotating function of the 15.6-inch infotainment screen has been removed.

For Malaysia, historical precedent suggests alignment with regional specifications rather than European ones. If that continues, the facelifted model introduced here would likely retain the 400V front-wheel-drive setup with incremental charging improvements rather than the 800V Evo configuration.
