Honda Thailand has opened bookings for the Honda e:N2 electric SUV in the kingdom. The model is imported from China as a completely built unit (CBU) and shares its mechanicals with the Honda e:NS2, which is produced through Honda’s joint venture with Dongfeng.

Estimated pricing in Thailand is in the region of 1.4 million baht, placing it roughly around RM 180,000 when converted. Official pricing is scheduled to be announced on March 23.

Mechanically, the e:N2 shares much of its hardware with the smaller Honda e:N1. Power comes from a single front-mounted electric motor producing 204 PS (150 kW) and 310 Nm of torque, driving the front wheels through a single-speed transmission.

Energy is supplied by a 68.8 kWh CATL NMC battery, providing a claimed 530 km range on the NEDC cycle. In China, the closely related e:NS2 is rated for 545 km on the CLTC cycle, while the Japanese-market Insight twin is expected to exceed 500 km WLTP.

Charging capability supports AC charging up to 7 kW and DC fast charging up to 78 kW. Honda claims an AC charging time of 5 to 100% in approximately 9.5 hours, while DC fast charging from 30 to 80% takes around 40 minutes.

As its name suggests, the Honda e:N2 is positioned above the e:N1 in Honda’s electric SUV range. Dimensions measure 4,788 mm long, 1,838 mm wide and 1,570 mm tall, with a 2,733 mm wheelbase. This places it closer in size to vehicles such as the Leapmotor C10, while sitting larger than popular EVs like the BYD Atto 3 and Proton eMas 7.

The design follows Honda’s latest EV styling language, featuring arrow-shaped LED daytime running lights connected by a full-width light bar to form an illuminated “H” graphic. Other exterior highlights include flush pop-out door handles, hidden rear door handles, a sloping roofline and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the e:N2 gets a 9.4-inch digital instrument display sits ahead of the driver, paired with a 12.8-inch central touchscreen running Honda Connect 4.0. An 11.5-inch head-up display is also included.

Other equipment includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control with rear vents, ventilated front seats, power-adjustable front seats with memory for the driver, 12-speaker Bose sound system, 360-degree camera, hands-free powered tailgate, and a sunroof.

The e:N2 also features Honda’s full Honda Sensing suite of driver assistance systems, which includes autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane centering assist, road departure mitigation, blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert.

Could It Come To Malaysia?

The introduction of the e:N2 in Thailand raises the possibility of the model eventually reaching Malaysia. Honda Malaysia currently offers the e:N1 as its first battery-electric vehicle, but the e:N2 would sit above it in the line-up and compete in the growing mid-size EV SUV segment.

However, the reinstatement of import taxes on CBU electric vehicles may complicate matters unless Honda pursues local assembly (CKD) for the model in the future. For now, the e:N2 represents Honda’s latest attempt to expand its electric vehicle portfolio in the region, with Thailand becoming the first Southeast Asian market to receive the model.
