From 28 May, payment will be collected at two entry points, namely the Genting Highlands entry at Genting Sempah and the Gohtong Jaya entry at the Gohtong Jaya roundabout.

For Class 1 vehicles, which include cars and vans, the charge is RM 5 per entry at both entry points. Class 2 medium lorries will be charged RM 15, while Class 3 heavy lorries will be charged RM 25. Class 4 taxis will be charged RM 3.30, while Class 5 buses will be charged RM 5.

LCSB says Class 2, 3, 4 and 5 vehicles are required to enter via designated “Lorong Khas” lanes or use the licence plate recognition (LPR) system. Emergency vehicles and motorcycles are exempted from the road charge without requiring registration.

Private vehicles belonging to public servants working at identified government institutions in Genting Highlands will also be exempted, but registration is required and entry must be via LPR or special lanes.

The listed institutions include SK Sri Layang, SMK Sri Layang, Institut Aminuddin Baki, Balai Polis Genting Highlands, Balai Polis Gohtong Jaya, Balai Bomba dan Penyelamat Genting Highlands, Klinik Desa Sri Layang, Pejabat Daerah Kecil Genting Highlands, Pejabat Daerah dan Tanah Bentong, Pejabat Cawangan Majlis Perbandaran Bentong (Cawangan Genting Highlands) and Pejabat Setiausaha Kerajaan Negeri Pahang (Cawangan Genting Highlands).

From 28 June 2026, LCSB will also allow eligible permanent residents of Genting Highlands to register up to two Class 1 vehicles per household. Registered residents can choose a preferential rate per entry, which is 10% lower than the normal rate when using LPR lanes or Lorong Khas. Registered vehicles will not be charged before 28 June.

LCSB will also introduce a six-month season pass scheme for registered permanent residents, allowing unlimited entries into Jalan Genting Highlands during the validity period via LPR or special lanes. Pricing for the season pass has not been listed.

According to LCSB, exemption and preferential rates will be reviewed periodically to ensure continued relevance and reflect operational or policy changes.
