Sime Darby Auto ConneXion has launched three new Ford Everest variants in Malaysia, led by the new Ford Everest Platinum. At the top of the range is the Ford Everest Platinum 3.0L, priced at RM 430,888 on-the-road without insurance. This variant is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 turbo diesel engine producing 250 PS at 3,250 rpm and 600 Nm of torque from 1,750 to 2,000 rpm.
The engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission with an e-Shifter. The Platinum 3.0L also gets an advanced ElectroMagnetic Transfer Case (EMTC) full-time four-wheel drive system, which enables intelligent torque distribution for better traction, stability and control.
The Ford Everest Platinum 2.0L is priced at RM 348,888. It uses a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine producing 170 PS and 405 Nm, paired with a 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission and Electronic Shift-On-The-Fly (ESOF) part-time four-wheel drive system.
Both Platinum variants sit above the existing Everest range and add a more premium appearance. The Platinum 3.0L gets a distinctive grille with black “Platinum” lettering on the bonnet, along with Platinum badging on the front doors and tailgate. It also rides on larger 21-inch alloy wheels with 275/45 R21 tyres.
The Platinum 2.0L receives a similar premium design treatment, Matrix LED headlights, C-clamp daytime running lights and 20-inch alloy wheels with 255/55 R20 tyres.
Inside, both Platinum variants feature a 12-inch central touchscreen with wireless connectivity and Ford SYNC 4A. The Platinum 3.0L gets additional premium items including 10-way powered front seats with heating, ventilation and driver memory, quilted leather upholstery, Platinum cabin badging and a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system.
The Platinum 2.0L gets powered front seats and a more premium cabin treatment, but with a standard eight-speaker audio system. Both Platinum variants also come with a panoramic roof.
The updated Ford Everest Sport 2.0L is priced at RM 316,888. It continues with the 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine producing 170 PS and 405 Nm, but now gets a 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission and part-time four-wheel drive system.
The Everest Sport 2.0L also gains six selectable drive modes, including Mud/Ruts and Sand, along with newly designed sporty two-tone seats.
Safety equipment for the Everest Platinum includes seven airbags, hill descent control, hill launch assist, roll-over mitigation, tyre pressure monitoring, front and rear parking sensors and a 360-degree camera.
Driver assistance systems include adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and lane centring, autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning with brake support, post-impact braking, lane departure warning, blind spot information system, rear cross traffic alert and braking, reverse brake assist and evasive steer assist.
Colour options for the Everest Platinum 3.0L are Acacia Green, Meteor Grey and Absolute Black. The Everest Platinum 2.0L is offered in Acacia Green, Meteor Grey, Arctic White and Absolute Black.
The updated Everest Sport 2.0L is available in Command Grey, Lightning Blue, Arctic White and Absolute Black.
The new Ford Everest variants are now available for order at authorised Ford dealerships nationwide. In conjunction with the launch, customers who confirm a purchase of any new Everest variant in June will receive two years of free service.
