The all-new 2026 Mazda CX-5 has been previewed at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show 2026 (KLIMS 2026), while the Mazda CX-60 3.3G AWD variant has been launched in Malaysia.
The 2026 Mazda CX-5 is now open for booking at authorised Mazda showrooms nationwide. Final Malaysian specifications have yet to be announced. What you see here is a Japan-spec unit and may not be representative of what we will be getting. Price is estimated at RM 170k.
The third-generation CX-5 made its global debut in 2025 and represents the latest version of Mazda’s core C-segment SUV. It will arrive in Malaysia as a fully imported (CBU) model from Japan with a 2.5 litre engine. The current locally assembled (CKD) second-generation CX-5 is expected to continue being sold alongside the new model.
Globally, the all-new CX-5 was introduced with an e-Skyactiv G mild-hybrid engine, consisting of a 2.5 litre naturally-aspirated inline-four petrol engine producing 141 PS and 238 Nm. The engine is paired with a 24V mild-hybrid system and a six-speed Skyactiv-Drive automatic transmission driving the front wheels.
Compared to the outgoing model, the new CX-5 is larger, measuring 4,690 mm long and 1,860 mm wide, with a 2,815 mm wheelbase. That makes it 140 mm longer, 20 mm wider and gives it a 115 mm longer wheelbase than before.
Design-wise, the new CX-5 continues Mazda’s Kodo design direction, but with a more upright and confident SUV stance. It also gets a more distinctive rear end with “Mazda” lettering across the tailgate, replacing the usual badge-led look.
