The new 2026 Toyota Hilux has been launched in Indonesia, bringing the ninth-generation pick-up to the market with a 2.8-litre diesel engine and a BEV variant.
For Indonesia, the new 2026 Toyota Hilux is offered in both Single Cab and Double Cab body styles. Prices start from Rp 416.8 million, which is around RM 95k, for the Hilux S-Cab 2.8 Diesel 4×4 M/T. The Double Cab range starts from Rp 466.3 million, around RM 106k, for the D-Cab 2.8 Diesel E 4×4 M/T.
The D-Cab 2.8 Diesel G 4×4 M/T is priced at Rp 497.9 million, around RM 113k, while the D-Cab 2.8 Diesel V 4×4 A/T sits at the top of the diesel range at Rp 574.2 million, around RM 131k. The Hilux D-Cab BEV is priced much higher at Rp 1.019 billion, around RM 232k.
The main mechanical update for the combustion-engined Hilux is the adoption of the 2.8-litre 1GD-FTV turbodiesel engine, producing 201 hp, or around 204 PS, and 500 Nm of torque. Toyota says the engine is aimed at customers who need stronger performance for work, fleet use, off-road driving and adventure activities.
All new Hilux variants in Indonesia are fitted with part-time 4WD and a rear differential lock, giving the pick-up more confidence over difficult terrain.
Toyota says the new Hilux also receives improvements to comfort, stability and handling, with the pick-up developed to remain usable over long distances while also being easier to control across different road conditions and off-road environments.
The Hilux Double Cab measures 5,320 mm long, 1,885 mm wide and 1,815 mm tall, with a 3,085 mm wheelbase. Ground clearance has also increased from 286 mm to 312 mm.
Exterior equipment on the V variant includes full LED headlights, gloss black grille, satin silver lower bumper trim, fog lamps, overfenders, electrically retractable side mirrors, side steps, 18-inch alloy wheels, rear deck side step, deck bedliner and a high-mounted stop lamp.
Inside, Toyota says the new Hilux gets a more modern and functional cabin. The dashboard uses a horizontal layout to help the driver better judge the vehicle’s position, particularly when driving off-road.
