Chinese electronics brand Dreame has once again found itself in the spotlight after releasing new images of its first electric car, just days before its planned debut at the CES show in Las Vegas. Earlier this year, the company raised eyebrows when teaser images showed a four-door coupe that looked uncomfortably close to a Bugatti

Instead of echoing the Chiron, the latest version bears a closer resemblance to the Bugatti Brouillard, a one-off coupe derived from the 2022 Bugatti Mistral. Both the Brouillard and the Mistral sit on the Chiron’s underpinnings but feature distinct styling changes, and several of those cues seem to have influenced Dreame’s revised design.

The newly released images do not show the front end, leaving it unclear whether the familiar horseshoe grille seen in earlier renders has survived the redesign. What is visible, however, are segmented daytime running lights that closely mirror those on the Bugatti Brouillard. The colour scheme also feels familiar, combining metallic green paint with black lower body sections in a way that is strikingly similar to the French hypercar.

Further similarities can be seen along the sides, where Dreame has replaced the Chiron’s dramatic C-shaped body flourish with a subtler kink that feeds into a sharp character line running through the doors. While the inspiration is still evident, the overall shape now feels less like a direct copy and more like a toned-down interpretation.

At the rear, the differences become more obvious. The lighting design does not follow Bugatti’s signature look, and the spoiler appears to be a bolt-on unit rather than an integrated element. Crucially, the car retains its four-door layout, immediately setting it apart from any Bugatti and placing it closer to electric performance saloons such as the Porsche Taycan.

Official technical details have yet to be confirmed, but expectations from Chinese media point to serious performance figures. Reports suggest an output exceeding 1,000 PS, alongside refrigerant-based cooling for the electric drivetrain. Acceleration is also expected to be extreme, with a claimed zero to 100 km/h time of around 1.8 seconds.

Whether Dreame’s first car will live up to the hype remains to be seen, but with a bold design evolution and eye-catching performance claims, its CES debut is likely to draw plenty of attention, for better or worse.
