The milestone coincides with the first anniversary of the Proton e.MAS 7, which closed 2025 as Malaysia’s best-selling electric vehicle. At the same time, the newly introduced Proton e.MAS 5 has begun to gain momentum as the country’s most accessible electric car, positioned as Malaysia’s first affordable EV. By the end of December 2025, registrations for the e.MAS 7 reached 9,336 units, made up of 8,677 local deliveries and 659 units exported. The e.MAS 5 entered the market with 213 units delivered, following extensive preparation by PRO-NET and its dealer network to ensure readiness across sales, handover, customer onboarding and after-sales support.

With more e.MAS vehicles on the road, the environmental impact is becoming clearer. Together, owners are estimated to offset up to 10 million litres of petrol consumption each year, avoiding as much as 21,000 tonnes of tailpipe carbon dioxide emissions while also lowering nitrogen oxides and particulate matter. Electric driving also brings immediate benefits at street level, particularly in busy urban areas, as EVs generate between six and 10 decibels less noise at low speeds compared with internal combustion vehicles. The result is quieter commutes and reduced exposure to exhaust emissions in densely populated neighbourhoods.

Beyond sales figures, the Proton e.MAS 7 has played a broader role as a national and regional showcase for electric mobility. Officially launched in December 2024, the model was developed over more than 700,000 man-hours and subjected to 10 million kilometres of testing to ensure it could meet real-world driving demands. Its credentials were reinforced during the ASEAN Summit 2025, where 61 units were deployed as official vehicles for key delegations and senior officials, reflecting government confidence in PRO-NET’s electric vehicle capabilities.

The e.MAS 7 also completed the ASEAN Unity Drive 2025, a 10,432 km journey across nine countries that demonstrated battery safety, endurance and reliability under varied conditions. Closer to home, a nationwide roadshow ahead of the grand launch allowed Malaysians across Peninsular and East Malaysia to experience the car firsthand, while new variants introduced in July 2025 added fresh exterior and interior colour options in response to customer feedback.

Interest in the Proton e.MAS 5 has remained strong since its launch on 30 October 2025, with the model positioned to lower the barrier to EV adoption across a wider range of buyers. By the end of the year, more than 14,600 bookings had been recorded nationwide. The first batch of vehicles has already begun reaching customers through PRO-NET’s authorised dealers, with a phased delivery programme set to continue into the first quarter of 2026 to meet demand.

To mark the progress achieved so far, PRO-NET is rolling out additional after-sales benefits for Proton e.MAS owners. From 1 January 2026, customers sending their vehicles in for maintenance or servicing will enjoy complimentary car washes at selected service centres, along with free charging up to 80 per cent, subject to availability. These perks are intended to enhance the overall ownership experience and underline the company’s focus on making electric mobility both convenient and rewarding.

With EV adoption in Malaysia continuing to accelerate, Proton e.MAS is steadily shaping the local electric landscape through affordability, reliability and accessibility. Backed by the country’s largest dealer and service network, the brand is well placed to support owners from day one. Looking ahead, PRO-NET plans to introduce new new-energy models and further expand charging infrastructure nationwide, ensuring more Malaysians can take a confident head start into electric mobility.
