At its heart is a 2.5-litre Dynamic Force Hybrid System that pairs a four-cylinder A25A-FXS petrol engine with a high-output electric motor. Together, the system produces 250PS, marking a 37 per cent increase over the standard 2.5-litre variant. Despite the added performance, fuel consumption is rated at 5.7 litres per 100 km, with CO₂ emissions reduced to 129 g/km. The self-charging hybrid system replenishes its battery during driving and braking, removing the need for external charging, while an EV mode allows the Vellfire to run in near silence with zero emissions over short distances.
Inside, the Vellfire HEV places a strong emphasis on comfort inspired by the Japanese concept of omotenashi, or thoughtful hospitality. The Executive Lounge VIP seats offer extensive power adjustment, ventilation, ottoman support and massage functions, all managed through a dedicated multi-operation control panel. The cabin is finished with Nappa leather upholstery, soft-touch materials and ambient ceiling lighting with 64 selectable colours, creating a refined and calming environment. A flagship-exclusive Sunset Brown interior option brings a warm, contemporary feel that complements the Vellfire’s elegant design. Entertainment and connectivity are equally well catered for, with a 15-speaker JBL sound system and a 14-inch ceiling-mounted rear display, alongside features such as Remote Engine Start via Toyota’s Vehicle Telematics System, all accessible through a mobile app.
The Vellfire HEV rides on Toyota’s TNGA GA-K platform, which enhances body rigidity while delivering confident handling, improved ride comfort and reduced cabin noise. Safety remains a key focus, with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 fitted as standard. In Malaysia, the Toyota Vellfire 2.5 AT is priced at RM448,000, while the Toyota Vellfire 2.5 HEV AT Executive Lounge is offered at RM550,100. Colour options include Platinum White Pearl, Precious Metal and Black, paired with either a Black interior or the exclusive Sunset Brown theme.
