Bermaz Xpeng, the local distributor for Xpeng in Malaysia, has provided an update on the brand’s local assembly (CKD) efforts in the country. The brief popped up during the launch of the G6 Standard Range.
CKD operations was confirmed in December 2025 with the local partner being revealed as EP Manufacturing Bhd (EPMB) and the assembly will take place in Malacca. The first two models will be the G6 and X9 MPV, with the process slated for commencement in March and May 2026.
The country head of Xpeng Motors Malaysia, Adrian Loh, confirmed that progress is underway, and the first CKD models will be rolling off the assembly line in Q2 this year.
He refrained from divulging which model would be the first but did state that the two being sold in Malaysia currently will be prioritised with Xpeng headquarters in China working on the list of models suitable for CKD here.
