Chery Malaysia has expanded the Tiggo 8 range in Malaysia with the introduction of the new Chery Tiggo 8 that slots in below the Tiggo 8 Pro and Tiggo 8 PHEV. The seven-seater Tiggo 8 is powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged gasoline direct injection (TGDi) engine that produces 197 PS and 290 Nm of torque.
Chery Malaysia has expanded the Tiggo 8 range in Malaysia with the introduction of the new Chery Tiggo 8 that slots in below the Tiggo 8 Pro and Tiggo 8 PHEV.
The seven-seater Tiggo 8 is powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged gasoline direct injection (TGDi) engine that produces 197 PS and 290 Nm of torque. Paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, the powertrain is capable of returning approximately 7.0 L/100km, delivering a balance between performance and efficiency.
It measures in at 4,772 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width and with a 2,710 mm wheelbase. On the scales, it hits 1,590 kg. Up to 1,930 litres or cargo space is available to swallow up almost anything you could throw at it, made easier with the powered tailgate. It rides on 28-inch wheels.
Passenger comfort is handled beginning with the dual-zone automatic air-conditioning with entertainment flowing from the infotainment feeding an eight-speaker Sony premium sound system.
The infotainment itself is governed via a 12.3-inch touchscreen and has support for Android Auto as well as Apple CarPlay. As for the driver, vehicle vitals are displayed on the 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.
Safety is extensive, starting with the six airbags, a vehicle structure constructed of 74% high-strength steel for superior protection and a 360-degree panoramic camera. Active safety is in the form of a comprehensive ADAS suit of:

- Rear Collision Warning (RCW)
- Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
- Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
- Door Open Warning (DOW)

Only two colours will be available, Dark Black and Khaki White.
It is priced at RM129,800 (WM) or RM132,500 (EM) and Chery Malaysia has made available a special launch package that includes a seven-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty together with a 10-year/1,000,000 km engine warranty. That is not all, early buyers will also receive five-years free servicing and a year of Chery Insurance Programme.
The Tiggo 8 will be available at all Chery showrooms nationwide from 24 January 2026 onwards.
