A new private motorsports facility will be launching soon in Johor, opening another avenue in the rapidly developing Iskandar Puteri region. The new track and supporting facilities falls under the Sunway Iskandar Puteri development and is christened after the group’s founder as the Jeffrey Cheah Circuit.
Johor’s proximity to neighbours Singapore makes it a logical choice to open a private motorsports circuit, one that caters to Malaysian enthusiast as well as addressing the general lack of roads for Singaporean motorheads to push their cars to the limit for more than two minutes before falling into the Singapore Straits.
The circuit’s website has gone live, and you can check it out by clicking here.

You may have come across some news sites listing the circuit as a F1-grade track but that is completely inaccurate. Even the circuit’s official Facebook page states that it is not an F1 racing circuit, but a purpose-built advance driving circuit for petrolheads that will occasionally host community projects through activities like walkathons, jogathons and more.
From the renders, the Jeffrey Cheah Circuit looks to have four primary layouts:
- Full configuration – 4.5 km with 23 corners
- Outer loop – 2.38 km with 11 corners
- Left side – 2.4 km with 13 corners
- Right side – 2.1 km with 11 corners
Like all private motorsports facilities, the Jeffrey Cheah circuit aims to do justice as the Monticello Motor Club or the Ascari Club of Asia. Aside from the track itself, the facility will house 10 garages, a skid pad, control room and a warehouse for car storage.
Guests will also be able to use the driving simulator rooms, VIP pit lounge, dining area and meeting rooms for briefings.

The motorsports facility is part of the Sunway group’s latest development in Johor, Sunway City Iskandar Puteri, spanning 2,000 acres with a value of over RM30 billion.
Johor, and to an extent, Malaysia, is no stranger to private motorsports developments. Back in 2016, the Fastrack City project in Iskandar Johor boasted a 4.45 km circuit with dedicated sections for a hill climb, off-road proving grounds and motorcycle track. However, that has since been put on hold.
More recently in 2021, news sprouted about the development of an international-grade circuit with a resort setting in Langkawi. The Open Road International Circuit & Integrated Resorts (ORIC) was to be built on a parcel of land in Bukit Malut, outside of Kuah town.
It even went as far as a signing of a joint venture between Permodalan Kedah Berhad (PKB) and OPen Road Asia. Once again though, that was as far as things progressed before silence set it.
With this being part of the Sunway group however, we would bet that the Jeffrey Cheah Circuit will see cars roaring down its straights by the end of 2026.
