The rapid rise was foreshadowed during its first six months of 2023, selling 4,501 vehicles between June and December of that year. The milestone was eclipsed with a solid wrap up of 2025, notching 12,930 units delivered.

Chery Malaysia followed the global cue cars by initially launching with internal combustion engine (ICE) models like the Omoda 5 and Tiggo Pro 8 before introducing electrified models such as the Omoda E5 in March 2024. Chery also went the extra mile with impactful community initiatives to bolster trust. Chief amongst this was during the unfortunate fire incident in Putra Heights where the company loaned Chery vehicles to 50 affected homeowners within the very same week to ensure residents could move their belongings, travel for daily needs and manage temporary relocation. Further support for the community came in the form of funding for the National Sports Trust Fund (KWASN), in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Growing its local network remained a key effort in cementing the brand’s presence here. A step towards that was by bridging the gap between education and employment for skilled workers. Chery Malaysia collaborated with the Belia Mahir Project to place graduates into the workforce with employment opportunities within the company.
