UMW Toyota Motor wrapped up 2025 with another strong performance, ending the year with 14,284 vehicles delivered in December alone and total annual sales reaching 102,417 units. The result marks the fourth consecutive year Toyota has crossed the 100,000-unit threshold in Malaysia, a feat that firmly places it as the first and only non-national automotive
The achievement comes at a time when the local automotive market is becoming increasingly competitive, shaped by rapid electrification, new market entrants and changing customer expectations. Despite these pressures, Toyota’s consistent results underline its standing as a trusted brand among Malaysian buyers, built on long-term credibility and a reputation for dependable ownership rather than short-term trends.
Demand throughout the year remained steady across Toyota’s model range, reflecting loyalty that stretches from first-time car buyers to families who have owned Toyotas for generations. This sustained interest suggests that Malaysians continue to value vehicles that deliver not only at the showroom but also through years of daily use, supported by a proven ownership experience.
A key contributor to this performance has been Toyota’s Multi-Pathway Approach, which acknowledges that mobility needs vary widely depending on lifestyle, driving habits and infrastructure readiness. By maintaining a balanced mix of efficient internal combustion models, hybrid options and future-ready technologies, Toyota has continued to push its Mobility for All philosophy in a way that aligns with real-world conditions in Malaysia.
The company has highlighted that achieving more than 100,000 sales for four years running reflects the trust placed in the brand by Malaysian customers, as well as the strength of its long-term strategy, local investments and understanding of how people use their vehicles. Guided by its Best in Town philosophy and a strong Customer First mindset, Toyota intends to keep delivering practical, inclusive and reliable mobility solutions for the years ahead.
Looking beyond 2025, UMW Toyota Motor plans to build on this momentum by further expanding its network, enhancing service standards and rolling out initiatives that reflect evolving customer needs. As the brand closes the year on a historic high, its focus remains firmly on shaping the future of mobility in Malaysia with solutions designed to last.
Alongside its sales success, Toyota also took steps to strengthen ownership confidence with the introduction of the Toyota Extend Plan on 1 December 2025. The programme allows eligible customers to extend the standard five-year warranty by up to three additional years, providing coverage of up to eight years depending on the vehicle and package selected.
Offered on selected models such as the Vios, Corolla Cross, Yaris and Corolla, the plan comes with both Basic and Premium coverage options. Warranty claims can be handled at authorised Toyota service centres nationwide, and the coverage is transferable to the next owner, helping to protect vehicle value while offering added peace of mind throughout the ownership journey.
