Electrified mobility remained a major pillar of that success. BMW Group Malaysia once again led the premium EV space, retaining its position as the country’s top premium electric vehicle provider for the sixth year running. Over 2,700 fully electric vehicles were delivered during the year, accounting for 25.2 per cent of total sales, up from 20.6 per cent in 2024. The steady rise reflects growing customer trust in the group’s expanding electrified line-up across BMW, MINI and BMW Motorrad.

Looking at individual brands, BMW recorded over 7,700 vehicle deliveries in 2025, while MINI Malaysia posted more than 1,500 units, marking an 8.7 per cent increase year-on-year. BMW Motorrad also maintained positive momentum, delivering over 1,600 premium motorcycles, up 3.8 per cent compared to the previous year.

The group’s leadership attributes its performance to a strong focus on technology openness and customer choice, backed by a broad product offensive and a comprehensive ownership experience. As BMW Group Malaysia enters 2026, it continues to position itself as a premium mobility brand that goes beyond selling vehicles, with ambitions that include local manufacturing, talent development and strengthening Malaysia’s role in the regional automotive landscape. A major highlight of this commitment is the local assembly of the first fully electric BMW for the Asia-Pacific region, reinforcing Malaysia’s status as a key hub for premium EV production.

Product momentum defined much of 2025, with 37 new models and variants introduced throughout the year. This approach supported the group’s “Power of Choice” philosophy, offering Malaysian customers petrol, plug-in hybrid and fully electric options across multiple segments.

Another milestone during the year was the unveiling of the locally assembled BMW i5 eDrive40 M Sport Pro, the first fully electric BMW to be built in the Asia-Pacific region. The move highlights BMW Group Malaysia’s confidence in local manufacturing capabilities while strengthening its contribution to sustainable mobility.

On the sales front, the BMW 3 Series led the brand’s performance with more than 1,300 units delivered, coinciding with the model’s 50th anniversary. A new Vehicle Distribution Centre is also under construction in Selangor in partnership with Neptune Reliance, with operations set to begin in January 2027. Spanning over 48,000 square metres and capable of housing more than 3,000 vehicles, the facility will feature hydraulic parking systems and EV charging bays.

Investment in people remains equally important. Through initiatives such as the BMW NextGT programme with the Selangor Technical Skills Development Centre, the company continues to nurture future-ready automotive talent, particularly for the electric vehicle era.

The introduction of the locally assembled BMW i5 eDrive40 M Sport Pro stands as a defining moment for BMW Group Malaysia, reinforcing its belief in Malaysia as a strategic manufacturing base and positioning the country at the forefront of premium electric mobility in the region.
