The GWM One platform is designed to be very flexible. It can be used to build SUVs, sedans, MPVs and pickup trucks. This helps the company save time and money when developing new models, while keeping prices lower for buyers.

The first model built on this platform will be a large luxury SUV, teased by GWM’s Wey brand. In China, it is known as Guiyuan and is expected to be called Hujue. The SUV is around 5.3 metres long and has six seats in a 2+2+2 layout, aimed at premium buyers.

The SUV will use a plug-in hybrid system with a 2.0-litre turbo engine. It can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in about 4.4 seconds when the battery is full. It uses an 800-volt system and can drive more than 400 km on electric power alone. Fast charging is a key feature, with up to 200 km of range added in just five minutes.

Artificial intelligence plays a big role in the GWM One platform. AI systems control the engine, battery, suspension and safety systems in real time to improve comfort, performance and safety. Features like air suspension and advanced safety support are expected.

The platform uses a modular design, with many shared parts and software that can be easily adjusted for different models. This makes it easier for GWM to build many types of vehicles on the same base.

Great Wall Motors says vehicles built on this platform can reach a total driving range of up to 1,300 km using both electric and hybrid power, with fuel use of about 6.3 litres per 100 km in hybrid mode.

In the future, the GWM One platform will be used across many GWM brands. With its mix of AI technology, long range and flexible design, it is meant to help the company build smarter and more advanced vehicles for the years ahead.
