A new teaser for the upcoming all-new 2027 Mitsubishi Pajero has been released, this time focusing on a modern interpretation of one of the nameplate’s most recognisable cabin features.

The new Pajero, described by Mitsubishi as an all-new cross-country SUV, is scheduled to make its global debut this autumn. Ahead of that, the company has revealed that the model will feature a Multi Meter, a digital triple meter display that pays homage to the dashboard gauge pod found in previous generations of the Pajero.

Older Pajero models were known for their triple gauge pod, which typically displayed useful off-road information such as vehicle pitch and roll angles. In the upcoming model, Mitsubishi is turning that idea into a digital display setup.

Instead of fixed analogue gauges, the Multi Meter uses three digital displays that can show a wider range of information. According to Mitsubishi, this includes altitude, compass heading, ambient temperature, vehicle pitch and roll angles, and left-right torque distribution.

The idea is to give drivers real-time information on both the driving environment and the vehicle’s behaviour. Mitsubishi says the system is designed to help drivers maintain confidence and control when navigating steep inclines, mountain roads, narrow forest trails, rocky terrain or muddy conditions after heavy rain.

The latest teaser follows an earlier preview of the new Pajero’s front lighting design. While Mitsubishi has yet to reveal the SUV in full, the company says the new model has been engineered to deliver authentic off-road performance, while still providing safe, secure and comfortable driving across various weather and road conditions.

The Pajero name is also known as Montero in selected markets.

Technical details have yet to be announced, but earlier information points to the new Pajero returning as a more serious off-road SUV. The model is expected to sit on a ladder-frame platform and is understood to be based on the latest Mitsubishi Triton, although Mitsubishi says the Pajero will receive model-specific development to support both off-road capability and long-distance comfort.

More details are expected closer to the all-new Mitsubishi Pajero’s global debut later this year.
