Addressing MP Young Syefura Othman’s question on reducing accidents on the Karak Highway, Loke also highlighted plans to promote railway freight transport to alleviate road congestion. Once the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project is complete, the ministry intends to implement policies that would shift cargo transport from roads to rail, particularly between the Klang Valley and the East Coast.

In response to MP Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden’s inquiries about upgrading rural railway stations and enhancing connectivity with other public transport, Loke confirmed that the Railway Assets Corporation prioritises these upgrades. He emphasized the need for local authorities to work alongside the ministry, especially for projects like connecting KTM stations to nearby bus stops. While integration efforts are ongoing in the Klang Valley, Loke acknowledged the importance of extending similar upgrades to cities across Malaysia, such as Alor Setar.
