UMWT says its Q2 2026 performance was supported by Toyota’s core model range, expanding electrified line-up and stronger customer engagement.

UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) has announced that it recorded over 7,300 units in June 2026, bringing its second-quarter sales to more than 20,800 units.

This lifts UMWT’s year-to-date tally to above 36,200 units. Based on its 102,417-unit sales total in 2025, the 2026 YTD figure is currently at around 35% of last year’s full-year volume. UMWT has not provided a model-by-model breakdown for June or Q2.

According to UMWT, its Q2 performance reflected continued customer confidence across Toyota’s core model range, supported by an expanding electrified line-up, stronger customer engagement and practical mobility solutions for Malaysian customers.

The second quarter also saw Toyota continue its Multi-Pathway Electrification Strategy, with a wider range of mobility options aimed at different customer needs and stages of electrification readiness.

This includes the introduction of Toyota’s battery electric vehicle line-up comprising the bZ4X, Urban Cruiser BEV and Hilux BEV, as well as the all-new Toyota Yaris Cross, which is available in both ICE and hybrid variants.

Other Toyota models launched earlier this year include the Vellfire Hybrid, GR Corolla AT and Vios Hybrid.

Datuk Ravindran K., President of UMW Toyota Motor, said the company’s second-quarter performance reflects continued customer confidence in Toyota’s product line-up and the choices being brought to market.

“Our commitment goes beyond introducing new products. We are focused on building an ecosystem that gives customers greater choice, confidence and convenience throughout their ownership journey,” he said.

He added that Toyota’s Multi-Pathway approach, combined with innovations that showcase the future of mobility and initiatives that strengthen ownership, allows UMWT to deliver solutions that are dependable and relevant for Malaysians.
