BMW Malaysia has introduced the new locally assembled 2026 BMW 218 Gran Coupe M Sport, priced at RM 192,800, or RM 204,800 with BMW Service & Repair Inclusive (BSRI).
The BMW 218 GC M Sport succeeds the BMW 218 GC Sport, which was introduced in June 2025, and is limited to just 50 units in its first allocation. The new variant was introduced at the BMW Clubhouse, which opens to the public from 17 to 19 July 2026 at Factory 19 PJ.
Compared to the 218 Gran Coupe Sport, the new M Sport variant adds a more focused set of styling, chassis, cabin and driver assistance upgrades. The headline addition is Adaptive M Suspension, which BMW says allows the car to balance sharper handling with composed ride comfort across different road surfaces.
The 218 Gran Coupe M Sport is powered by the same 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine as the 218 Gran Coupe Sport. The engine produces 156 hp and 230 Nm of torque, and is paired with a 7-speed Steptronic dual-clutch transmission.
For the M Sport, the transmission is now equipped with paddle shifters. Power is sent to the front wheels, with 0-100 km/h completed in 8.6 seconds and top speed rated at 230 km/h.
On the outside, the 218 Gran Coupe M Sport gets the BMW Kidney Iconic Glow grille with vertical and diagonal kidney bars, adaptive LED headlights and vertical daytime running lights that create BMW’s four-eyed lighting signature.
The M Sport package also brings Individual High-Gloss Shadowline trim with extended content, 18-inch M light alloy wheels in Y-spoke Style 975M Bicolour, high-gloss black exterior mirrors, Exterior Line Satin Aluminium trim and an M Sport rear diffuser.
At the rear, vertical LED taillights emphasise the car’s width, while the Hofmeister kink is embossed with the number “2”, marking its place within the 2 Series Gran Coupe line-up. The car measures 4.55 metres long, with the same wheelbase as before.
Inside, the M Sport cabin adds BMW Live Cockpit Professional, BMW Operating System 9, an M leather steering wheel, M anthracite headliner, “Illuminated” Aluminium Graphite interior trim and a head-up display.
The BMW Curved Display combines a 10.25-inch instrument cluster with a 10.7-inch control display, while QuickSelect allows easier access to vehicle functions through the touchscreen and voice commands.
Other cabin features include ambient lighting integrated into the instrument panel, backlit aluminium trim strips with M colours, a redesigned centre console with cup holders and a wireless charging tray, and Veganza perforated upholstery.
The front sport seats come with electric adjustment and memory function, while luggage capacity is rated at 430 litres. BMW has also fitted a 12-speaker, 205-watt Harman Kardon HiFi loudspeaker system.
Driver assistance has also been upgraded. The 218 Gran Coupe M Sport gets Driving Assistant Plus, which adds Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go and Steering and Lane Control Assistant.
This is on top of Lane Change Warning with active steering intervention, front collision warning with Emergency Braking Function, pedestrian warning, Exit Warning, Rear Crossing and Collision Traffic Warning with brake intervention, Speed Limit Info and Manual Speed Limit Assist.
Parking Assistant Plus is also included, adding Park Assist Professional with line and kerb detection, Active Park Distance Control with pedestrian detection when reversing, Surround View, Front Panorama View, Remote 3D View, BMW Drive Recorder and Anti-theft Recorder.
Digital features include BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant with Amazon Alexa integration, BMW Digital Premium, Personal eSIM, BMW Remote Software Upgrades and BMW Digital Key Plus, which allows compatible smartphones to be used as the vehicle key.
The BMW 218 Gran Coupe M Sport is available in Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Brooklyn Grey and Portimao Blue. Veganza perforated upholstery in Black is offered for all exterior colours, while Coral Red upholstery is available exclusively with the Black Sapphire exterior.
With BSRI, the BMW 218 Gran Coupe M Sport gets a four-year unlimited mileage warranty and four years or 80,000 km of service coverage. It also comes with BMW Roadside Assistance, which provides 24/7 emergency support including towing, courtesy cars and hotel accommodation in selected situations.
